Spyker is a Dutch sports car manufacturer. Spyker began its life manufacturing carriages in 1880 and started manufacturing its first cars in 1899. In the year 1913 Spyker started manufacturing its first Aircraft. Spyker continued the production of cars and Aeroplanes until 1926 when the company went backrupt, the estimated cars sold by Spyker by 1926 totaled at most 2000 cars.
In 1999, the Spyker brand was bought back, the company is still based in the Netherlands. The company's motto is "Nulla tenaci invia est via", which is Latin for "For the tenacious, no road is impassable". The marque's logo displays the rotary engine of an airplane, a reference to the historic Spyker company which manufactured not only automobiles but also aircraft, these aircraft themed styling features are seen throughout all Spyker cars drawing influence from its aircraft history.
