Shelby American, Inc. is an American high performance vehicle manufacturer. Shelby was founded in 1962 by Carroll Shelby, he began by importing AC Car bodies and fitting Ford small block V8s. Carroll Shelby developed his cars to compete in the many GT class races, his most successful racecars developed was the Cobra, Daytona and the Ford GT40.
